The end of financial year for 2019 is fast approaching and how best to prepare may already be playing on your mind. Let’s run through some of the must-do things you’ll need to do to prep for the 30 June deadline.
1. GET YOUR STOCKTAKE IN ORDER
Stocktake is one of the first things to check off your list when wrapping up the financial year. Depending on how much stock you have, it can also take up a bit of your valuable time. Making sure you have a streamlined stocktake process will save you hours if your leisure centre or swim school sells merchandise, equipment, food and beverage in the centre’s café.
EOFY also gives you a chance to analyse which products flew off your shelves so you know what is popular enough for a restock, and which products stayed on the shelves and are better off discontinued. 2. CLEAN YOUR SYSTEM
Take the opportunity of a new financial year to tidy up your system and delete any buttons that are no longer needed. Perhaps you have a stock item that is now discontinued, or have a type of membership which you no longer offer?
Removing these unnecessary buttons from your Point of Sale will help your staff give your customers a much quicker and more pleasant member experience.
3. UPDATE YOUR PRICES AND FEES
The end of financial year always means annual price rises, and a whole lot of updating that needs to be done in your system. Prices for your stock, services and memberships all need to be updated to reflect the annual price rise. It’s no secret that this can turn into a large job, and one that normally needs to be completed out of hours so members aren’t disrupted at the checkout.
